Hot Irish

1-½ oz Irish whiskey 4 oz boiling water
½ slice lemon 1 pinch ground cinnamon

Pour into a heat-proof goblet, sweeten to taste and serve.

As Good as Sex Hot Chocolate

Fill a mug with hot water to about 2 inches from the top. Add cocoa mix & then fill the rest of the way with your favourite dark rum. Mix & enjoy.

Canadian Cocoa

¾ oz Canadian whiskey ¾ oz dark rum
½ oz dark crème de cacoa 5 oz milk
2/3 oz maple syrup

Heat milk in a small saucepan. When simmering, add remaining ingredients. Allow syrup to dissolve, and pour into a heat-proof glass.

Hot Frenchman

¾ oz Grand Marnier orange liqueur
4 oz red wine ½ tsp sugar
¼ oz orange juice ¼ oz lemon juice
1 twist orange peel 1 twist lemon peel

Heat well in a heat-resistant glass or cup. Stir, add twists of lemon & orange peel. Serve.

Hot Mulled Cider (serves 8)

½ cup brown sugar 1 tsp whole allspice
1 tsp whole cloves ¼ tsp slat
1 dash of ground nutmeg 3” stick of cinnamon
2 quarts apple cider orange wedges

Combine sugar, allspice, cloves, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon & cider in a saucepan. Slowly bring to a boil and simmer for 20 min. Remove spices. Serve in warmed mugs with a clove studded orange wedge in each mug.

Hot Buttered Rum

1 oz dark rum 1 tsp sugar
½ tsp butter 4 cloves

Put the sugar, butter & cloves in a coffee mug. Pour the rum, and stir well. Fill with boiling water. Stir again, and serve.

Hot Port Flip

3 oz port wine 1 small egg
1 oz cognac 1 tbsp cream
1 tsp sugar ¼ tsp instant coffee
Freshly grated nutmeg

Combine port, cognac and sugar in a saucepan. Heat but don’t boil. Stir in instant coffee.
In a bowl beat egg until foamy. Stir in cream.
Very slowly, while stirring constantly, pour hot liquid into egg mixture. Pour into a pre-heated mug. Sprinkle with nutmeg, and serve.
